About Me:
I have two boys. One is 5 and the other is 18.
I lived in Florida most of my life, but I was born in Ohio.
I was married to a great man for nearly 20 years, they were the happiest years of my life.
About my Loss:
My husband was 37 years when he passed. He went in the hospital for a heart operation and everything went well during the operation, til they moved him out of ICU and put him into a regular room. They said he had caught something and weren't sure what it was. His body stareted to shut down. I felt helpless.

He is always with me

I do believe that life goes on. I know because my husband makes it a point to communicate with me when I need him.

A few months ago I moved to my new home, and I had received the last electrical bill of my previous home that we shared together. The bill was for $10.14. I thought that was strange because our aniversary is on October 14 and we always used to comment on the clock at 10:14 on certain days. I'm not sure but when ever we looked at the clock is seem to be at that time. We thought… Continue

Hi Sally, Have you read WHAT DREAMS MAY COME, BY Richard Matheson? This has been so inspiring, and I have been doing research on this very topic. And I happy somebody understands exactly how I feel. I am going to try to get my hands on the book you noted, but in the meantime, I am going to be happy and courageous for Joe, because it does not help him. Anyway I am off for a week from work, so I am going to enjoy it!!!

Sally thank you, who is the author of the book? Would love to get my hands on a copy. Well I do talk to Joe like he is standing right next to me!!! I  do not know but I feel his presence and would start talking!!! Because when I moved back to our room we shared, I asked him to keep me safe and I told him please do not make any strange noise because I am tired and need to sleep. I did sleep the whole night without the help of a sleeping pill!!

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More
