Profile Information

About Me:
I am 46 years old. I am the mother of three children, two boys and one girl. I am also the grandma of one beautiful little girl who will turn 2 on Valentines Day.
About my Loss:
Two years ago, my father became very ill. He was diagnosed with temporal arteritis but even with treatment, his health continued to decline. Over a six month period, I watched him decline to the point of not knowing anyone. He died on November 13, 2012 at the age of 63. Our family had an autopsy done. It concluded that he did not have temporal arteritis but other than that, it really didn't give us much information. Fast forward to November 12, 2014 (last week), my husband came home from work to tell me my mother had passed away. She had some type of respiratory infection or maybe the flu. We suspect that she became dehydrated, her blood sugar dropped which triggered a heart attack. She was 64. If you notice the date, this was just one day short of being 2 years since my father's death. I am so overcome with grief, I don't know what to do. I hadn't healed from my dad's death and now I've lost my mother who was also my best friend.

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More
