About Me:
I Raised my children alone. 1 boy 1 girl. I have no family support so it's always been just the three of us. I also have a fur baby dog a 9+ yr old pom mix. Without her life would be much harder. She is my therapy dog as I was in a car accident a few years ago leaving me on disability due to nerve damage and severe pain. I have had to stuggle so hard all my life to survive since I wasn't wanted held or loved as a child. I don't understand why God keeps allowing all these horrible things to happen to me. Will it ever get better. I don't think I can take any more. I'm tired.
About my Loss:
My 42 year old son unexpectedly died on Thanksgiving day. His neighbor found him. They don't know cause of death yet. He had been in the hospital with a possible stroke for 2 days but couldn't find anything so they sent him home. He was cooking for his friends and neighbors and when they couldn't reach him went in and found him in the floor. We had to get his things out by end of month so it left my daughter and I to do eveything quickly. We also had to raise money for the funeral.I insisted on an autopsy But info won't be back for 10 weeks. My daughter is taking it very bad. I am trying to help her but am grieving myself so can't give her as much as she needs right now. We got his apartment cleaned out but found things missing on the second day that were there on the 1st day. So it appears that he was robbed also. This makes it even more heart breaking. We got his cremation covered & now trying to raise the money for a tree to be dedicated with a memorial plaque on our green belt walking path through town. I would love to hear suggestions on how others made it through all of this. I don't want to be a statistic who dies soon after losing my son. I fear for my daughter. She is falling apart. They were very close.

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More

Sibling Loss

This group is for anyone that has lost a brother or sister. Sibling loss is often minimized and people don't realize how devastating losing a sibling can be. I lost my older sister and my life will never be the same. She was my only sibling, I looked up to her, I went to her for everything. I lost my past, present and future. It is traumatic.See More

Triggers Continue to Surface

Late February is a challenging time of year for me.  Jen’s birthday is the 23rd and serves as an annual reminder of all of the potential that was lost…Her’s (mainly), mine, the world’s honestly.  This year she would be 52…It is increasingly hard to imagine, through all of the iterations possible, what she could have become, what was to be her (significant) impact on the world. That being said, things, emotions, have largely settled down since I committed a potential version of what could have…See More
