About Me:
I am married and live on the East Coast of Northern NSW Australia currently.
About my Loss:
Just over a year ago on September 19 2013,my husband and I lost our only child, our precious daughter, in a terrible car accident that claimed her life instantly.
Our beautiful Daughter 'Alex' had just turned 23 years old and had her life before her.
We have struggled to comprehend why?
Alex was special... not just to us but to many many people. We feel empty without her. We have struggled to get through even the first year with all its anniversaries, birthdays, fathers and mothers day and so on.
We have both changed and I don't think we will ever be the people we where before her death.
Some friends/workmates have been amazing in their understanding and compassion and others just 'don't understand' and we don't ever want them too, as we don't want anyone to go through what we have been through. Just wanted to share.

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More
