About Me:
Happily married, two grown sons. 49 years old, disabled/retired. I used to work in the Bakery industry. I love animals and have 9 cats and a sweet little dog. Not the "crazy cat lady" type. Just caring for lost souls. I love the water; rivers, lakes... I'm in awe of the beauty our world has to offer. My soul is sad from what we've made of it. But there is still hope.
About my Loss:
I lost my best friend and soul mate to pancreatic cancer a few months ago.We met in 5th grade when I moved into her town. She lived across the street from me and we spent every minute of everyday together. I loved her and she loved me the same. Her husband was a bit cold and wasn't available for her. I was glad I could be. After she passed away, her dog passed away. Than last week I had to have her beautiful cat euthanized. They were both very old and lost without her too. They quickly became old and frail as their life changed so much. She was my anchor and I feel like I will float away now.
Are You a Service Provider? If Yes, please tell us about your service.
I cared for my best friend through her cancer and lived with and took care of her the last two months when she was too sick to care for herself. Also, I think we are all service providers in some way. Maybe not professionally, but I like to think that I am in service to my fellow person. I believe we ARE our brothers keeper.

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More

Sibling Loss

This group is for anyone that has lost a brother or sister. Sibling loss is often minimized and people don't realize how devastating losing a sibling can be. I lost my older sister and my life will never be the same. She was my only sibling, I looked up to her, I went to her for everything. I lost my past, present and future. It is traumatic.See More

Triggers Continue to Surface

Late February is a challenging time of year for me.  Jen’s birthday is the 23rd and serves as an annual reminder of all of the potential that was lost…Her’s (mainly), mine, the world’s honestly.  This year she would be 52…It is increasingly hard to imagine, through all of the iterations possible, what she could have become, what was to be her (significant) impact on the world. That being said, things, emotions, have largely settled down since I committed a potential version of what could have…See More
