Lashundra,

I am so sorry for the losses you have had.  I can relate the most to the loss of your husband as I lost my husband and I am still aching for him.  It has been 7 years.  I can only say taking baby steps everyday is the only way I get through a day.  It took a good five-six years for it to soften at all for me but everyone is different.  At the age of 68 I would be quite happy to exit myself but so far no luck.

You are still in such an early stage of your grief.  Don't believe for minute the stuff you hear about "getting over it" or "moving on".   Grief is the hardest thing ever.  Nothing compares.  And for me the loss of the man who was my passion partner, my rock, my soul I still seek him and yearn for him all the time.  Please know that some of us come here and weep through our words.  Not always frequently and sometimes people come and go and then reappear.  Just know you are not alone and we all know how hard "loss" is.  No other reason any of us would be here other than to let our feelings out because we know someone else will understand........and we do.......take care the best you can.......its all we can expect of ourselves.

Sibling Loss

This group is for anyone that has lost a brother or sister. Sibling loss is often minimized and people don't realize how devastating losing a sibling can be. I lost my older sister and my life will never be the same. She was my only sibling, I looked up to her, I went to her for everything. I lost my past, present and future. It is traumatic.See More

Triggers Continue to Surface

Late February is a challenging time of year for me.  Jen’s birthday is the 23rd and serves as an annual reminder of all of the potential that was lost…Her’s (mainly), mine, the world’s honestly.  This year she would be 52…It is increasingly hard to imagine, through all of the iterations possible, what she could have become, what was to be her (significant) impact on the world. That being said, things, emotions, have largely settled down since I committed a potential version of what could have…See More
