About Me:
34, graphic designer, searching for myself, whoever that may be...

I am a very kind and gentle person, with a very big heart and I can't help giving to anyone and everyone. Sometimes, this turns out to hurt me in the end, but I'd never give up my compassion and empathy.

I am divorced and single. I have no children, but I do have a dog who I adore. Her name is Punky and she's a pitbull.
About my Loss:
2011: My beloved Mamabear, lost to breast cancer at 65 years old. She lived 13 months after diagnosis.

2012: My beloved brother and only sibling, Chris, lost to colon cancer at 33 years old. He was diagnosed and given 6 weeks to live, he lived 5.

My dad and only family member left is still living, but is suffering from dementia and MS.

I've also had 2 other significant deaths in the last 5 years, and the loss of a long term relationship. Too much loss!

Couldn't Stop Crying

Just cried for over 2 hours, that type of cry I call an "ugly, howling" type of cry. I wish I had someone to sit with me when I cry like that. Don't have to say anything, do anything, just be with me. Being alone and crying like that makes it feel so much worse. When will the pain go away???

A Poem My Mom Wrote

My mom had written this before the diagnosis of cancer. She had many blood clots after my brother was born, which gave her a lifetime of more clots, serious pain and illness. But this really captures the way she was through it all, and even after the cancer diagnosis and the time she lived after.

What Do You Do?

Hi Kimberly,

I am so sorry that you are experiencing the loss of not one, but several precious people in your life.

I am part of a research team at Saint Louis University that is conducting a research project about how families communicate about making medical decisions for loved ones at the end-of-life.

I have read a bit about your losses and I'm interested in hearing more of your story. If this is something you would be comfortable with, please email me at

My name is Brenda and I also am born and raised in Cincinnati Ohio. I would love to be your friend and be your family. I notice that you don't say to much on here. Maybe that is because you don't want the world to know your thoughts or give their opinion. If you accept someone's friend request, then you can Private Message them or  "Send a Message"....... This is much like email but it within the system.

I will be in Cincinnati between Aug 12 and 28th 2014 - may be we could have lunch somewhere - Skyline?

Losing Someone to Cancer

This is for anyone who has lost somone to cancer. I lost my adopted Mom to breast cancer some years ago. She was everything I could have asked for. She loved me because I was just me. She also loved my family and children as if they were her own.See More
