About Me:
I'm 62 and work as a para-pro at an elementary school. I love children. I am married and have 2 sons 34 & 29 and 2 daughters 32 and 24. My older daughter is married and has a 9 month old son.
About my Loss:
I lost my younger son, Kyle, on Sept. 28, 2015. He was 29 and it was unexpected. We still don't have a death certificate or reason for his death, as they are still waiting on toxicology. He was in a car accident at the age of 18 and nearly lost his life then. He suffered a closed head injury so some people have speculated that his death could be the result of the head injury of 11 years ago (a seizure, aneurysm, etc.) I don't care how it happened, I just know that my son is gone and I want to be gone too. I went back to work last week after being off for a month. Fortunately the kids keep me so busy that it's the only time I'm not crying and re-living that awful night when I found out. I love my other kids but this one was my best friend.

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More
