About my Loss:
My dear mother died a year ago after battling an aggressive form of cancer.
I feel so sad and depressed at times. She was an amazing woman who gave so much of her time and love of her family. I miss her voice and laughter.
It's been very painful adjusting to life without her. Sometimes I just feel the loss so deeply I cry. I'm grateful to have some supportive relatives. I try not to burden them with how I often feel.
To make it worse my stepfather went out and remarried within 7 months to a family acquaintance. It's just been awful. I'm an adult woman who still feels like my dearest friend and hero is gone forever.
Anyway, I found this site and wanted to reach out to others who may be dealing with grief and loss as well.

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More
