Cecelia

I am so sorry for your loss.

One thing that helps me is looking forward to being reunited with those that have died.

The Bible speaks of this in several accounts, but my favorite is this one.

  • Mr 5:41 Then, taking the hand of the child, he said to her: “Talʹi·tha cuʹmi,” which, when translated, means: “Little girl, I say to you, get up!” 42 And immediately the girl rose and began walking. (She was 12 years old.) And at once they were beside themselves with great ecstasy.

I love that the family experienced "great ecstasy." They had lost their precious 12 year old daughter in death. But Jesus reunited them with a resurrection.

I believe that one day we will all be reunited. We will experience that same "great ecstasy."

It doesn't take our pain away, but it does give us hope and something to look forward to.

So sorry that you lost your husband Cecelia.  It's tough, especially with a little one to raise.  You have come to the right place...everyone here on this site and on the Lost my Spouse group can relate to where you're at and what you're going through.  It's the hardest experience I've gone through and will continue to go through.  You never get over it, but you have your son and will see your husband in him.  There isn't any right way to grieve and just go through it at your own pace and what feels right for you.

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More
