About Me:
My name is Carrie. I'm 34. Mother to 5 wonderful boys, ages 8, 12, 14, 16 and 20. They are my world. I work full time as a medical assistant for an oncologist. I do chemo schedules for or many many patients every day.
About my Loss:
I lost my husband on August 1, 2015 very very unexpectedly. He had left July 20th to take one of his many out of state jobs in Louisiana. We always spoke many times during the days and nights that he was on the road. As he traveled for work quite often. I was actually the last person who spoke to him before he went to bed late that night....the next day I called and called, but he never answered so I thought he just overslept, which he was notorious for doing....it's when I walked out onto my deck that afternoon around 230pm, that I saw the police officer walking up to my porch. My husband had just turned 37 only five days before he was pronounced dead in his hotel room....

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More
