Sudden death

Deeply saddened when alcoholic boyfriend died suddenly. We were together 4 yrs. The last 1 1/2 he was over drinking. 2 weeks before his death he showed thinking confusion and was leaving me horrible mean messages on phone. So I ignored him 2 weeks. When I tried to call no answer. Then his friend came over told me he died.
No warning, no closure, severe grief!
How can I get through this?
I hope there are some answers.

Carrie - I am truly sorry about the loss of your boyfriend. I can’t imagine the pain you must be feeling right now.

You mentioned that you are looking for answers. I do have some helpful information on how to cope with grief if you would like the link. It’s no problem to send it or even if you just need someone to talk with when you get overwhelmed, I want to offer friendship as well.

I tried to send a short friend request, but I’m not sure it it was submitted okay.

Again, I’m sorry for your loss.

Sincerely,

Frances

Hi Carri, Any time at all. I'm only too happy to talk. I've just finished writing a song about going through the grief process. I had intented to record it much sooner but life got in the way, as it often does. I will record it quite soon and will post it tothe list in the hope that it helps people onthis very difficult and painfull journey. I feel your sadness, pain and loss as it does affect everyone differently. Please don't let anyone tell you that it will only last a specific time. It will last until you or anyone comes to terms with the loss of someone we dearly love. One thing I did find on the sit is that the more we loved someone, the longer that time will be. There is no definite time. It can last forever. We do come to terms with it eventualy. Sharing our pain and loss is a way to help that journey easier. I had some really good friends on here once but they have moved on. One or two remain here. It is the suddeness, the unexpectedness, the sheer and overwhelming loss that is also difficult to comprehend. Not only that but saying goodbye is also very painfull. All those emotions and it is no wonder we can't deal with it. Thank you for wanting to talk. I'm here for you anytime. huggggs.

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More
