Profile Information

About Me:
I am a 33-year-old mother of a very active toddler, with another baby due in early July. I am a certified elementary teacher, but I am currently a stay-at-home mom. I am lucky to have such a supportive husband during this difficult time.
About my Loss:
My mother died suddenly on April 6, 2013 of an undiagnosed heart condition. We were all completely blind-sided. I am devastated not only that I lost my best friend, but also that my children won't know her.

I just saw your comment from June 5th on the "I Miss My Mom" page--thank you for your kind words about going through motherhood without your mom. It gives me strength to know that it will be possible to have a child and love him/her and cherish him/her the way my mom cherished me.

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More
