About Me:
34 year old.
About my Loss:
I came home from work to find my 33 year old fiance passed away on our couch. He was still warm, no rigamortis had set in. I called 911. Started CPR and then the medics came in. They put the machine on him that does the chest compressions, shocked him, put oxygen on him, and gave him narcan. After 30 minutes they pronounced him gone. They said it could take up to 12 weeks for autopsy results but that he appeared to have had a massive heart attack. 12 weeks later to the day the autopsy results came back and stated he had complications of a drug overdose. He'd been clean from heroin to my knowledge for 18 months. There's no way he was a regular user again. There was never withdraw symptoms. But apparently he had used this time and it was pure Fentanyl.

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More
