About Me:
I am 40 years old and live in Grandview, Washington. I love to read, sports, TV and movies. I have a 3 legged German Shepherd named Rosie and a cat named Lacey. I'm blessed to come from a Christian home.
About my Loss:
We lost my dad on January 18, 2015 just one day after I turned 40. It's really hard to explain my loss. My dad meant the world to me. He taught me everything I know about sports and we shared an interest in the same tv show. He was a Navy man. During the last few months he would fall often. He would be in and out of the hospital. Finally, he had to be admitted because he had a stroke. He started to choke on his food and lost coordination. No one knew however, that his life would end when he did. He become unresponsive early in the morning on the 18th, and was gone by mid-afternoon. His death hit me incredibly hard, as I was one of his primary caregivers. I miss him tons. I still struggle with his loss, I miss him tons.

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More
