Spirit needs tending when we grieve, perhaps one of these Tips will make a little difference. That is the intention.

The Serenity Prayer

God grant me the serenity

to accept the things I cannot change;

courage to change the things I can;

and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;

Enjoying one moment at a time;

Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;

Taking, as He did, this world

as it is, not as I would have it;

Trusting that He will make all things right

if I surrender to His Will;

That I may be reasonably happy in this life

and supremely happy with Him

Forever in the next.

Amen.

COMFORT

The love of God surrounds, enfolds, sustains and comforts me.

You are not alone. God is always with you - loving you, supporting you and guiding you through your loss. You live in the light of God's peace, and you are comforted.

If grief drives us deeper into the spiritual which is the ultimate reality, and we fully comprehend that life is endless, and our loved ones are in a way better place than this, then we come to the realization that we are ONE with all there ever was, all there is, and will ever be we have awaken from the dream of limitation that is to live through emotions and perceptions.

AFFIRMATION

Whenever the mind starts to race in a very negative direction you might find useful to come up with your very own affirmation. This affirmation I came up with today when painful memories re-surfaced:

"My beloved LIVES. The Soul is Immortal."

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More

Sibling Loss

This group is for anyone that has lost a brother or sister. Sibling loss is often minimized and people don't realize how devastating losing a sibling can be. I lost my older sister and my life will never be the same. She was my only sibling, I looked up to her, I went to her for everything. I lost my past, present and future. It is traumatic.See More

Triggers Continue to Surface

Late February is a challenging time of year for me.  Jen’s birthday is the 23rd and serves as an annual reminder of all of the potential that was lost…Her’s (mainly), mine, the world’s honestly.  This year she would be 52…It is increasingly hard to imagine, through all of the iterations possible, what she could have become, what was to be her (significant) impact on the world.That being said, things, emotions, have largely settled down since I committed a potential version of what could have…See More
