I lost my 18 year old daughter in October 2017. It has been the hardest 7 months of my life. I feel lonely and isolated, angry, sad, guilty, I don't know what to do. I'm not finding much comfort anywhere. I do not know anyone who has lost a child, and I especially don't know of anyone who has lost a child to diabetic ketoacidosis. I wish someone who could understand me was near...

Dear Gina

I am so sorry for this terrible loss.

The only thing that has brought me any comfort is what I find in the Bible. Did you know for example that there are 8 resurrections in the Bible.  That is 8 reunions for people who had lost loved ones in death.

One particularly encouraging Account is one of a 12 year old daughter who died. The grief must have been overwhelming. But notice how the family felt when Jesus brought their daughter back to life.

Mark 5:42 — And immediately the girl rose and began walking. (She was 12 years old.) And at once they were beside themselves with great ecstasy.

This gives me hope that in the future we will be reunited with our loved ones and we will be beside ourselves with great ecstasy.
