Sharon,

I agree. The hope we get from Gods word does NOT take our pain away. But it does give us comfort, and something to hope in.

In the account I mentioned in Mark, the parents were

"beside themselves with great ecstasy."

When they were reunited with their daughter because Jesus ressurected her.

We will experience the same emotions when we are reunited with our loved ones...in your case your beautiful daughter.

This hope helps us manage through the terrible pain.

I have a question, if you don't mind....if you don't want to answer then that is ok....I don't ever want to offend or discourage.

The writings of Moses definitely include the existence of Satan.

Genesis chapter 3 for example.

And Moses certainly speaks of Satan as a real spirit person in the account of Job.

Job 2:1 (KJV+S) — Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD.

In the Jewish religion, we do not believe in Satan. The Old Testament does not address that. But if this gives someone solace, then so be it. For me, there is no good reason for suffering and death, especially of the young.

I will say that the Bible teaches us that death is not from God. In fact death is considered an enemy.

1 Corinthians 15:26 — And the last enemy, death, is to be brought to nothing.

As this scripture states...death is an enemy, and God will do away with it in the future.

Revelation 21:4 — And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
What a wonderful promise. Study of the Bible (not religious doctrine) teaches us that death comes from Satan, Adam's sin, and imperfection, and that God will fix all of this and then bring our loved ones back to us through a ressurection.

Mark 5:41,42 — Then, taking the hand of the child, he said to her: “Tal′i·tha cu′mi,” which, when translated, means: “Little girl, I say to you, ‘Get up!’” 42 And immediately the girl rose and began walking. (She was 12 years old.) And at once they were beside themselves with great ecstasy.

What a beautiful account of this reunion. The daughter had died and then was ressurected. We will all experience this in the future when Gods Kingdom comes and Gods Will is done on the earth.
I'm not trying to make anyone mad or feel bad, but every day that goes on, I have no faith whatsoever. There's no sense that my child died -- that any child dies -- that anyone or anything suffers so. Believing in god is an act of profound faith, and though I was a "seeker" before, that even isn't in the equation anymore. But I do hope, Sharon, that your faith brings you some relief.

my journey is different now, I wouldn't say that I have lost my faith but rather He is showing me a different way of walking... a much deeper faith.

I was brought up in a christian missionary family, so I have God as centre of my life for a long time .... but when the accident happened and I lost my beautiful 17 year old daughter, all that I knew, everything that I believed in was thrown out the window, things like heaven ... did I really believe there is a heaven, is my daughter not alone, every single thing I have had to rethink and come out the other side with a more personal view ....... haven't quite got there yet.

When we loose someone so dear we become shattered, and even the very friends we have get thrown into the air and some land close to you and some land far away. All I could do and still do is eat the crumbs from under His table as they are all that I can grasp, can't even read the bible, so what I do is get a devotional app on my phone that comes up everyday ... just small snippets.

I listen to music that will lift me up and encourage me.

And yes I get angry inside with people who say "Ill pray for you" perhaps they do ... but a lot of the time they say that because they don't know what to say. Don't give up on God my friend, and yes you are allowed to get angry... I have. but then also tell him your hurts, ask him to bring some people who will encourage you ... walk along side you..... cry with you.... or just sit with you.

The other day I cried out "really God... really, you really want to go there" I was mad and that's ok

Nothing will take that terrible empty feeling we now carry along with us, and I really hate that feeling, but what I have decided to do is just take one day at a time, and ask him to help even when I feel that he is sooooo far away.
I didn't believe in god befor…tag:www.onlinegriefsupport.com,2014-12-12:2054931:Comment:2128502014-12-12T20:17:02.008Zjill Gershonhttp://www.onlinegriefsupport.com/profile/jillGershon

That was beautiful. Even though I cry everyday and miss my son, I do know that heaven is our reward. I would not bring him back if I could. This is hell on earth and the suffering I would not have him endure another moment. Thank you for posting the verses.

It is evident from your posts that you do read the Bible, and you do believe and have faith in God.

You stated "you didn't say what you believe."

I will say just a bit here.

I believe that God has NOTHING to do with death.
He does not predetermine it for us.
He does not cause it.
Death is NOT part of God's purpose.
We die for one simple reason.

Romans 5:12 That is why, just as through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men because they had all sinned

We die because we SIN. That doesn't mean that we all go out and intentionally do bad things. It means that we are all imperfect. We all fall short of God's righteous standards. Why? Not because of God. Because the first humans rebelled and sinned, and they caused this defect to be passed on to all of their progeny US. All of us. No matter what age, no matter what!

I won't continue at this point, but to say that this is not the end by any means. Where I believe that God is NOT part of the problem, I completely believe that he is the ONLY SOLUTION. And he has given us every answer we need in his Word, the Bible.

Why we die?
What happens to us when we die?
What hope does God give us for our dead loved ones?

It is all there, we just have to see it.
